The second round of the 2002 LoL region Rallycross series will be
held on Sunday June 9 at the Donovan Family farm(4255 60th ave. s.
rochester,mn 55902) just a few minutes south of rochester, MN. it
is about a 1.5 hr drive from bloomington. the day begins
w/registration at 10am 'till 12 followed by the driver/worker
meeting. at this point we will do a brief walk through of the course
as a group. runs will begin at 12:30 and will conitnue 'till all
competitiors take a minumun of 3 timed runs. the scoring method is
cumulative and all runs will count. the competition surface is hard
packed black dirt. the site is located in a large field in a wooded
area w/a short access road through the woods. there will be parking
at the farm for trucks and trailers becaus the road through the woods
will not accomodate the large vehicles and the road has some tight
turns that may be a risk to trailers. there will be a food stand
with brats and pop and bathroom facilities will be availabe.we hope
to see you all there and have a great memorial day weekend.

What a fun event! This was the first time that I've had to really "test" out the car on dirt. Now I just gotta figure out how to stop running over those pylons...
Big thanks to the Donovans for the site and organizing. Well worth the near 2 hour tow.
Anyone have pics??? :D :D :D :D

well i would like to thank everyone for coming out today and helping
make the event so much fun. thanks to every one who stood out in the
dust picking cones our keeping score. the event would not have gone nearly as well with out all your help. there are some pictures on the
website now and we will add more later.
once again the address is:
www.geocities.com/donovan_motorsports/
the pictures were taken by our parents so there is a bit of a donovan
family slant to the photos right now. so if anyone has some pics
they would like posted e-mail them to us or jesse and we will get
them somewhere for people to see.
and if you are wondering who it is in the blazer that is jim's new
toy and i will let him tell you more about it.
the parking lot pic is from headwaters we put these up so my wife
could see some shots from today because she is not allowed to travel
since the baby is coming soon. so the next time some of you see us
there will be another donovan hanging around.

Thanks for the event Greg!
I had a great time. That was the first real rallyX for me, since Arkansaw was so sloppy. Thanks for putting it on. I'm excited for the next one.
I'll be blowing black dirt out of my nose for a week!
Oh yeah, I took a bunch of pics. I'll post them as soon as I figure out how.

Power corrupts! I was too busy having fun to worry about that lap time stuff ; ) I made lots of noise, threw lots of dirt (some at myself), and squished lots of cones (Greg said he wasn't counting the ones I blew over with the roost).
Actually, even without the squished cones, my times were unimpressive. The small cars ruled out there on Sunday. The ones without rally tires were doing just fine also. Looked like there were some good patient drivers out there (maybe Auto-xers?) picking smart lines and resisting the rally urge to slide that car around the corner.
But hey, I don't care, cause I can't seem to get this grin off my face, and a grin beats a win anyday! : )
Huge thanks to the Donovans for the most deluxe Rally-x venue I'll probably ever see! Kaari especially thanks you for the porta-potti.

JB, you might want to look again. I took first in Open. I had good times my first two runs, but a cone on each knocked me out of the overall win. On my third (double lap) run I was showing off a bit much and tagged 6 cones. My time was was fast though - too bad about all those cones. :)

Thanks, JB. :)
If you want to make fun of Jim, make fun of him for turning black from the topsoil that entered his truck-U-V from the missing back hatch.
