First RallyX (Sunday at Arkansaw)

Hi all!

I bought a GTI in winter to prep for ClubRally next season. The car is completely stock at the moment, but in good running condition.

I want to check out to the RallySprint in Arkansaw and hopefully participate in the RallyX on Sunday to feel out my new ride.

I am not an SCCA member, and I need a helmet. What do I need to cover before I can squash some cones??? Do I still need to register?

I tried emailing Steve Nielsen, but the email address is always spit back at me.

You will need a valid state driver's license and have the car in safe working order (seat belts work, battery tied down with metal or stock fasteners, no bungee cords, properly adjusted wheel bearings, etc). The helmet needs to be a snell 85 or newer M or SA rated helmet. If you plan to eventually run in stage rallies, I highly suggest buying a snell SA00 rated helmet so you don't have to buy another helmet later.

The Tax Brake Rallycross will be scored based on your best run of the day, not a total of all runs. This is different from how most of the LoL RallyCrosses have been run recently but it is a return to how they were run when the program started.
