555 Rally Sport driver Pete Hascher will compete July 27th and 28th in the fourth round of Atlantic Rally Cup, Rally West Virginia, headquartered at the beautiful Snowshoe Mountain Resort. The Ohio-based driver and his Polish native co-driver Grzegorz Dorman will once again pair up at the start of the event to fight for the best position at the finish.
At last year’s event the same pair had to pull off the road during last stage of the rally while fighting for the overall win, when their shifter linkage gave up. Hascher likes the smooth and challenging roads this event is known for and will once again is hoping to be in contention for podium position.
The 555 Rally Sport’s historic 1995 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Type RA has been modified between the events. The once Prodrive car got a new stand-alone ECU with anti-lag system and modified damper set up by Autosport Engineering’s Graham Wilcock. The car also has upgraded stopping power thanks to their new supporter Disc Brakes Australia.
“We are very happy to be back in the rally car, especially with the newest upgrades. Weather should play in our favor this year and save us from the dusty conditions we had to deal with in 2011,” says Hascher. “The car got a few key modifications since Greg and I won a regional rally in February. It would be great to be able to have similar success on fun roads of West Virginia.”
Co-driver Grzegorz Dorman added, “We are looking past last year’s disappointing finish and plan to have fun at the event. Pete had a long break between events and is eager to drive again. I’m interested to see the new roads prepared by some really experienced organizers.”
555 Rally Sport is supported by Jones Delivery, Disc Brakes Australia and Drift Innovation.
