The organizers of the Waste Management Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally, presented by Citizens and Northern Bank (STPR) are pleased to announce that Dirt Excavating, located on Rte. 660 in Mansfield, have volunteered to assist in the development of a stable race course for the event’s Subaru Super Special Stage.
“With the ability to have Dirt Excavating come in and professionally build our Super Special Stage, it will be a tremendous asset to the event,” said STPR co-chairman James Monks. “Not only will the largest field of competitors we have had in years be able to run the stage on a stable road surface, but it will provide us the ability to put on a real show of side-to-side rally car competition right in front of the grandstands.”
The Subaru Super Special Stage, presented by sponsored by the Philadelphia Zone of Subaru of America, will be run at the Tioga County Fairgrounds in Whitneyville the evening of Friday, June 1, and the Dirt Excavating Super Special Stage on Saturday, June 2. For a small fee, rally fans have the opportunity to sit in the stands and watch the cars compete in a timed rallycross-style stage where two cars start at the same time and at about the halfway point of the stage will swap lanes in a crossover on the track.
In past years, the Special Stage has been hindered by inclement weather conditions, making it impossible to run the stage properly without the organizers being forced to make drastic, last-minute changes to prevent cars from getting stuck in the mud and other factors that prevented being able to put on a good show for the thousands of fans attending.
