Revolutionary Sports Team driver Sam Albert and co-driver George Loef will be heading to Rally of the Tall Pines in Bancroft, Ontario on November 26th. The team is coming off a strong Second Place overall finish at Black River Stages last September in Harrisville, NY. They are looking to gain more experience and seat time in the austere conditions offered by an early winter rally. This is the team’s second visit to Canada for rally. Last year they attended Rallye de Charlevoix, but were stopped short due to a broken suspension early in the rally.
Their car, a 2004 Subaru STi, faced problems at the start of Black River Stages when a camshaft gear exploded on their way to Parc Expose. They were able to replace the gear before the start of the rally, but completed the entire race with bent valves, which caused concerned looks from many control workers and competitors alike. ‘We’ll have a healthy motor for Tall Pines,’ says Albert who is currently completing the repairs. ‘There was heavy scoring on a camshaft and we believe one of the caps was over torqued causing the gear failure.’ The entire cylinder head, including valvetrain, is being replaced in preparation for Tall Pines where they will be competing in the regional division. The team is looking forward to meeting new faces, and taking on the challenges of international rallying.
